Fostering Flourishing

About the Author

Hi there, my initials are D.H., but out of principle, I won't (directly) disclose my name.

I believe in prioritizing integrity, intellectual honesty, and unbiased evaluation based on merit.

Focusing on authorship or affiliations distracts and detracts from the ideas and the goals of the project. Hence anonymity and disassociation keep the focus on the ideas and their own merit.

Outline:

Motivation

I want to make it clear that: None of this is done for personal gain.

Placing undue emphasis on authorship can raise doubts about the integrity of the project's goals and suspicions about hidden agendas, ulterior motives, and ego entanglement. If my own identity is intertwined with the project, it could cloud the project's commitment to intellectual honesty and its primary pursuit of truth.

Evaluation

I believe that ideas should stand on their own and be evaluated by their merit — separate from the author and any evaluations of the author. If an idea is good, then it should speak for itself. Thus detaching my name and unnecessary personal associations from the project encourages an impartial evaluation of the project's ideas.

Credibility

However, I fully recognize that I ought to prove some credibility and believability, so here is a brief overview of my background, knowledge, and expertise:

  • I have been studying, researching, and writing about this topic for over a decade now.
    • While I do not have any formal credentials in this area of academia, I am well read.
  • I think about, talk about, and write about this more than anything else in my life.
  • I have been iterating on this project for a decade, updating it as I continue to learn more.

Separation

Finally, I want to point out that this project has no affiliations whatsoever. There is no involvement of any organization, university, religion, company, or institute. There is no monetary involvement or funding. The entire project is produced and published openly and freely. It will always be completely open and accessible.

Disclosure

If you are deeply concerned about a potential lack of accountability stemming from my anonymity, you may find my full name in the author meta tag in the HTML head of this website.

You are also welcome to view the open source code for this website on GitHub, which also discloses my identity.
